I have spent the last year developing a preset on the SS 1.31 for On-Air Dance music and now I am pretty happy with the sound, I feel the need for a brick wall Limiter to go after SS on my virtual audio chain.

I know some of you will probably say that I'm not making full use of the Limiters on SS but I'm not willing to trade Sound Quality with too much distortion.

Any decent Brick Wall Limiters out there I can use to stop the intermitant peaks??

Many Thanks

I've downloaded the demo and I do notice a slight difference but the peaks are still there....how are you driving it?

I've got 3.5db going in, and -2.5db out?

Also, how accurate is the winamp signal meter?

If you're talking about the spectrometer that input plugins send data to be shown in the skin... it isn't accurate at all for telling what level something is.

If you want a good spectrograph plus PPM & rms metering, as a Winamp dsp...  check out DSP Spectrum Tool.

If you want just meters, there's this:
http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details/11489
but i can't vouch for weather the metering is good or not.  It looks like it only is a PPM, but impossible to tell without using it.  Try it. Smiley

[edit]
ok, i tried "Peak", it's a piece of crap if you want to use it for detecting if the audio is going over -0dbfs, because it doesn't show it.  lol.  Try the DSP Spectrum Tool demo.

You need a dsp stacker...

Google it!

yeah, you need a DSP stacker, like MuchFX2

and either a DSP that can load VST (non i know of)

or both of these...
1 - AdaptX
2 - DirectiXer
which is what i use.
