I'm a dj and would much rather use SS for my MixVibes dj pc program instead of outboard compressor/limiter/expander.
We were just testing this on a few systems earlier today, running Mixvibes DVS, two running RME Firefaces, and one running a Linx.  It seemed to work great with 64 sample latency in DVS. Smiley  Oh and by the way, you can do the same thing with Winamp and the right input & output plugins...  there's tutorials already on this forum that will show you how, use the search function. Wink Cheers

Thanks jesseg but I do not use Mixvibes dvs, only Mixvibes5pro which is audio only.
I'm also not a computer wizard like most people on the board. I used SS a couple of
years ago for my internet station when winamp was my audio player but I do not use
winamp as a dj...I only use Mixvibes5pro. So my questions have nothing to do with
winamp. I have downloaded this utilty and played with it, but it doesn't work for me
because I have obviously made errors somewhere.

Quesions I have:
Which version of SS should I be using? I want all the SS presets to be included.
What folder do I place SS in so that I can feed it to my SB soundcard?

I have XP w/sp2.
I hope this makes sense and please pardon my ignorance.
Thanks much and make it a great day.

Anybody tried with new version of Zara (48khz sampled output)?

I had problems with new Zara/flexconnect/winamp DSP SS, something in the mix would not accept the 48KHZ sampled output of Zara, and I ended up backdating to an older version of Zara.  I never figured out whether it was a problem with winamp inability to accept or SS not able to process that 48khz stream.

(added)  since the file size is small and I found the Zara 1.6.1 setup program still on my hard disk, I just tried.   Different sorta problem I ran into, the TPP.zip file from page 1, when I try to unzip it, states "corrupted zip archive".  Tried DL a second time: same problem.  Now thats a bummer.  NEone willing to rezip the package and attach it to a new message?

All I was saying is that Winamp can function exactly like this TPP app.  I wasn't trying to answer any specific question, just stating a point that you could have done this all along instead of using your outboard processors. Wink  And re: Mixvibes, I could also care less what version you have, I wasn't trying to say your version would work or not, just saying we had tested it with DVS - so use that information however you want, or not.  Whatever.

I would think you have to put any plugins into whatever directory TPP is running in, but you could try a different directory if you want.  Version of SS is up to you, whatever is your preference.  There is no specific version you "should use".

It should work fine under XP, latest SP2 kernel is v5.12600.3119 and it's working great for me. (except for the silence stuff of course)

Well...
the utility uses some functions of the gdiplus.dll
This dll comes with XP and maybe it is included on the
updates of W2000 and in the installation of Office2003
as well.
If you don't have it you can find it on the net.
Beware that there are some internet security issues
related to this dll (exception on displaying some jpeg files that can
execute malicious software) so you should find
the last one (try to find it on microsoft site).
Once you got it, simply copy it in your:
$WINDIR\SYSTEM32

bye

Oooh.  In my XP SP2 system, that gdiplus.dll file is in a couple of different folders under \WINDOWS\WinSxS\

Does that make a difference?  I do not find that path in my Environment Variables.

SxS = Side by Side installation, it's just a method used for multi-language multi-version installations.  If none of them are registered, then it'll use the one in system32 by default, so either way it's nothing to worry about.

Optionally you can put a copy of the dll into the TPP directory, and it should use that.  But it's not really necessary.

It works with that 48khz stream.
(and also solves buffering problems with flexconnect)
Thank You Tomass!

Not directly related to this topic, but with Flexconnect there were issues with the crypkey license service not being removed with the Octiv core software.  To uninstall the license service you must go to a DOS prompt in the Streamsolo application directory and run "setupex.exe /U", then delete *.key from that dir, then uninstall streamsolo from add/remove programs.   If you delete the Octiv core software first, setupex.exe file gets erased, leaving you with no uninstall option for the service.

Be aware any other trial software installed on your system that uses crypkey will not likely start after that proceedure.

Hi! Is there a way to include ability to use enc_aac.dll (winamp AAC encoder) with dsp_sc.dll (Shoutcast DSP Plugin).
I can use only MP3 encoder and no other using TPP.

P.S. Anyway - TPP  is a great utility. I get a lot of bugs then starting shoutcast with winamp when system reboots.

that's because enc_aac.dll (and some other winamp related stuff) calls functions from nscrt.dll, Nullsoft's own compile of a MS CC++ Runtime.  So make sure to include that dll in the same directory that your TPP executable (the program this thread is about) is in.  Then everything should work ok.

To chain fx, use MuchFX2 or MasterMuxer, as has been suggested already. Wink

This is a great little program! If i could only get this to work under Wine on Linux i could finally use my favorite DSP plugins on Linux.

Unfortunately it doesn't work Sad

Error:

WaveInGetPosition:
This function is not supported. Use the Capabilities function to determine which functions and messages the driver supports.

Is there any chance the author (tomass?) could maybe make a small adjustment to TPP to work around this?

Or does anyone have any tips?
